Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

1. I understand that this is an open-access journal which carries a post-acceptance article processing charge and possible Galley Change fees. I accept the responsibility for these charges and will adhere to all the terms and conditions as set out by AOSIS. I understand that this journal does not offer article processing charge waivers or discounts.
2. I have ensured that my document complies with the manuscript formatting requirements of the journal, and as set out in the submission guidelines.
3. I have inserted all references made to literature in my/our references section and cleared any copyright issues by written permission for the reproduction of any text/images/ figures/tables. Please read our policy permission to use copyright material.
4. I have ensured that my document complies with the manuscript blinding requirements to conceal our identities and affiliations from the reviewers and upload this manuscript in Step 2. Additionally, I will upload an unblinded manuscript as a supplementary file in Step 4.
5. I have completed and will upload the required documents, as set out in the compulsory forms page, and understand that my submission will be considered incomplete if these supporting documents are not uploaded directly on to the website at the time of manuscript submission. Incomplete submissions will not be put into the peer-review process until requirements are met.
6. I take note and fully agree with all statements in the author declaration with regard to my/our submission.
7. I agree to comply with the Publication Policies of AOSIS, as set out in the publication policies.
8. Submission of manuscripts for consideration: Manuscripts that are incomplete (have absent or missing information) or do not comply with the instructions (absent or missing supplementary forms and files) will not be put into the peer-review process until requirements are met. Incomplete submissions will be removed from the system after 15 days and returned to the authors.

We, the authors, agree to the terms of this Copyright and Licensing Notice, which will apply to this submission if and when it is published by this journal.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party. By registering with the journal you are subscribing to receive emails from us to update you on your manuscript’s production status and provide journal press releases.

Author Fees

This journal charges the following author fees.

Article Processing Charges (APC): 1420.00 (ZAR)
This APC is valid for the current calendar year and may be changed at any time at the publisher's sole discretion. As the submitting author, you are responsible for payment of the APC and hereby confirm that you will organise payment of the APC should the article be accepted for publication. This responsibility may not be delegated to any third party unless the publisher agrees.

This journal does not offer waivers or discounts. We request that you evaluate your potential to obtain funding for the Article Processing Fee before submission, not after acceptance.
